Hours: 40 hours per week

Working arrangement: Available to work onsite a minimum of 2 days maximum of 4 days per week depending on business
Position Overview
The Risk Manager plays a key role throughout the project lifecycle, responsible for identifying, analysing, and managing risks to ensure successful programme delivery. The role requires close collaboration with stakeholders and other risk professionals to ensure a consistent and effective approach to risk management.
Infrastructure project delivery is a complex and fast-paced environment, often involving multiple interdependencies across programmes. The successful candidate will be required to deliver at pace and demonstrate effective application of programme and project management tools and techniques.
This role involves access to restricted information. Candidates must meet the necessary security requirements and be flexible with onsite attendance to facilitate workshops, meetings, and stakeholder engagement. Occasional travel to other UK locations and contractor offices may be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain risk management frameworks and processes.
- Lead risk identification, analysis, and mitigation planning activities.
- Facilitate risk workshops and review sessions with stakeholders.
- Maintain and update risk registers, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
- Produce regular risk reports and dashboards, highlighting key trends and changes.
- Monitor and track mitigation actions to ensure effective risk reduction.
- Support quantitative risk analysis activities, including schedule and cost risk assessments.
- Provide strategic insight into risk exposure across programmes and timelines.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure risks are understood and managed effectively.
- Ensure compliance with established processes, procedures, and governance requirements.
Position Requirements
Essential Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in risk management, including experience as a lead or sole Risk Manager.
- Strong understanding of risk management processes and methodologies.
- Experience in infrastructure or complex project environments.
- Ability to analyse data and identify trends to inform decision-making.
- Strong organisational and leadership skills.
- Proven stakeholder management experience.
- Hands-on experience in project delivery environments.
- Sole UK National with ability to obtain or hold SC clearance.
- Willingness to be onsite as required to facilitate workshops and meetings.
Desirable Qualifications & Training
- APM Project Management Qualification
- PRINCE2 Practitioner
- Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) Practitioner
- Management of Risk (M_o_R)
- PMI Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Membership of a relevant professional body
